My FASHION style and sense of DECOR are very similar.... one of a kind/unique pieces, vintage items, purchases from my travels & a good deal of course! It's great when you can look around the room and gravitate towards that one piece that takes you right back to the destination you were visiting when you purchased it. It's just like photographs for me - they take you back to "a moment otherwise gone". They also make for great conversation when entertaining guests.
If you can't afford to travel to far away destinations, no problem - check out a local Flea Market, Yard Sale, Thrift Shop or Estate Sale. You would be amazed at what's out there. These special touches that make "a house a home" take time - so don't expect to build this collection overnight. Decorating is an ongoing process and for me that's the fun of it!
