Brimfield Bound - 2022

The Brimfield Antique Flea Market, in Brimfield, MA - America’s oldest outdoor antiques flea market takes place three times a year, May, July, and September. July showcases the least amount of vendors due to the slow foot traffic thanks to the July heat. But don’t let that deter you from visiting during this month, you still have plenty of vendors selling their wares.

There are a decent amount of Bed & Breakfasts to choose from in the surrounding area but this is the second time we stayed at Elias Carter House. It is steps away from the beginning of the market so perfect for those early morning starts and you don’t have to worry about finding a parking lot. Elias Carter House serves up all one would expect and desire from a homey B&B.

Tip: Be sure to book your room way in advance once you decide which month you plan on visiting. They book up quickly.

The Brimfield Antique Flea Market runs for an entire week, beginning on a Tuesday and ending on Sunday. Hours are 8am - 5pm although on the opening day, many booths open as early as 6am. Be sure to check their website for schedules. The market runs around a mile in length and both sides of the road are lined with vendors. On a good day, you can find as many as 5,000 vendors. Come prepared with your comfiest shoes, sun protection, and water. Cash is king, especially for those bargaining moments. Many people like to arrive on the first day to get first dibs BUT the end of the show offers up more discounts and bargaining power.

My Brimfield Finds:

  1. Recycled Glass Beads & Sandstone Krobo beads from Ghana. I plan on incorporating these beads with some vintage chains to create original designs.

  2. I scored a last-day deal on these oversized unfinished cutting boards. I conditioned them at home and they are ready for entertaining with a story.

  3. The antique cocktail shaker from Pakistan required some polishing (see before above) and (after below). Now the perfect styling accessory for my bar cart.

  4. Vintage Decanters are also a favorite in my home. This one is now the perfect vessel for my husband’s whiskey.

One of my favorite styling tips is adorning your body and home with your travel finds. Both make for great memories and conversation pieces.
