Hudson, NY: Ready for another trip? One of my favorite kinds, a road trip! Hudson is a 2.5 hour drive OR a 2 hour Amtrak train from NYC. If you aren’t up for making this a day trip (which is what I did), there are plenty of places to stay overnight. If you do stay overnight, you should consider adding in a day of hiking or perhaps visiting some of the neighboring towns such as Germantown, Ghent, Catskills. Below I offer up a few suggestions for shopping, eating and lodging. I was able to experience most of them and read great reviews on the others. If you have visited Hudson and have a must see spot, feel free to add it in the comments below.
SHOP
The Antique Warehouse Hudson, NY (Antiques)
Nina Z (Clothing & Clogs)
Behida Dolic (Clothing and Hats)
Lili and Loo (An Eclectic mix of Wares & Finds)
The Spotty Dog (Books & Ale)
Pictured below… Lili and Loo - This shop is housed in three adjoining 19th century buildings with two floors and a 2,000 sq. ft back yard. It’s a cool store and kind of feels like you are walking into someones home as you make your way upstairs to the other floors. There is an eclectic mixture of furniture, home goods, clothing, jewelry and art, which can be found throughout the 15 individually decorated rooms.

EAT
WM Farmer & Sons
Talbott & Arding
Pictured below… Fish & Game - our first stop of the day which was perfect after after a long drive. The restaurant is housed in a former blacksmith's shop serving a seasonal menu of farm-to-table New American fare. We enjoyed the two course prix fixe lunch that is offered in the main dining room but they also offer a la carte options at the bar. There is an outdoor dining area as well. The chef is Zakary Pelaccio of Fatty Crab and Fatty 'Cue… 2016 James Beard award winner - Best Chef Northeast 2015, 2016, 2017 & 2018 - Wine Enthusiast magazine: America's 100 best wine restaurants… Definitely worth adding to your list of “places to eat” during your visit to Hudson.
