It’s been a while since I posted one of these, three years to be exact! I guess a little thing called “Covid” got in the way! Hope you and your loved ones fared well.
On a lighter note, I want to share my personal feedback on some new beauty finds I tried in 2022.
First on the list and in no particular order:
Pat McGrath Labs Lipsticks:
I took advantage of a great holiday sale (a common theme throughout this post) and purchased her Lust Gloss in Blitz Gold, Lip Fetish Balm Lip Shine in Nude for Venus, and MatteTrance Lipstick in Obsessed which is a bright orange-red!
Review:
A+ for Packaging, see for yourself below. Clever and unique.
A+ on the “Sale” pricing, $12 each, that’s a great deal for a Pat McGrath product. Always keep an eye out for sales when interested in trying something new.
A- for Formula. The formula was totally fine. The lipstick was a bit more orange than red so I didn’t love it. I gave it a minus score because I am not sure the formula or colors justify the original $39 price.
Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask Intense Hydration with Vitamin C:
I’ve heard great stuff about this product but with a price tag of $24, I wondered if it was worth it. I took advantage of a Sephora sale and gave it a shot.
I must admit, it feels great on the lips but I think I expected a bit more based on the hype. Is it a great lip balm? Yes. Do your lips feel moisturized while wearing it? Yes. Do you wake up in the morning with miraculously hydrated lips? Not so sure.
Review:
A+ for Packaging, cute tub with rubber top mini applicator to avoid sticking your fingers in repeatedly.
A for Formula, it does feel like a quality product while on your lips.
A- for Pricing. Based on all of the above, I would wait for another sale before purchasing again.
1. Corpus Natural Deodorant in Neroli.
2. Agent Nateur (holi stick) N3 Natural Deodorant.
Corpus Natural Deodorant: I purchased my first Corpus deodorant a few years ago in the No. Green scent and loved it. The scent, the formula & the packaging all A+. When that one ran out, I purchased the Neroli scent but sadly, I wasn’t as impressed. I am a huge fan of Neroli so I really wanted to love this one just as much but the scent is barely there and the product also doesn’t seem to work as well. Honestly, I am not sure if it’s just the fact that my body got used to it or if it is this particular scent.
Review:
A+ for Packaging, sleek enough for your countertop. Also, it’s green my favorite color.
A+ for Formula, it glides on nice and smooth. They have a nice selection of scents. I would pick No. Green over Neroli.
A- for Effectiveness. It’s no longer providing the results I want from a natural deodorant.
Agent Nateur: I had high hopes for this one. I heard a lot of positive reviews but it didn’t work for me. The texture was odd, almost felt dried out, not sure if I received an old product or if that is just how it is. The scent was so-so and hardly there.
Review: Based on the above, it’s a B for me.
The bottom line, I am still on the hunt for a natural deodorant that works! Leave a comment, if you have one you think I should check out.
Lights Lacquer Nail Polish:
I am so happy that I was able to support a fellow Latina-owned and Woman-owned business with this purchase. I discovered Kathleens YouTube videos many moons ago. Her bubbly & vibrant energy kept me tuning in for her beauty reviews. Clearly, she poured those qualities into her nail polish line based on the colors and names.
I took advantage of one of her sales and purchased some polishes. I really like them and would definitely purchase them again, at regular price. Well done Kathleen Lights!
Review: A+ for Packaging, Formula & Creativity.
Sunday Riley:
Ok so if you are into skincare, you know the name, Sunday Riley. While not new to the game, it is a new purchase for me. Honestly, I always thought, is it worth the price tag? The answer is…. Yes! I hate to admit it but I really did see and feel a difference in my skin after using these products. Aside from the effectiveness of their products, the packaging/presentation and samples provided were top-notch.
I ordered a full-size Luna Sleeping Night Oil for my retinol fix as well as their very popular Good Genes Lactic Acid Treatment for my AHA fix. Once again, taking advantage of a sale, I discovered my appreciation for these products. They were very generous with their samples and I must say, they last a long time. They threw in Auto Correct Eye Cream, Ceramic Slip Cleanser, A+ Retinoid Serum & a few other small samples all in a reusable pouch. I really enjoyed their sunscreen as well.
Let’s just say, I get the hype. I would purchase these products again even without the sale😉
Review: A+ across the board - Packaging, Formula, generous Samples, long-lasting & a little goes a long way.
Kristen Ess Hair Products:
A great drugstore find. I picked these products up at Target after hearing some great reviews. Happy to say, I would repurchase.
The Leave-In Conditioner and Air Dry Creme, work nicely and live up to their description.
Review: A+ across the board… Nice Packaging, not your typical drugstore packaging. The scent is lovely, not too strong, and provides a fresh spa-like scent. The notes are ambrette seed, magnolia, pear water, night violet, orris butter, new caledonia sandalwood + white amber.
