Venice & Trento, Italy 2016

Venice here we come!!!  Delta Air Lines has non-stop flights from JFK into Venice, Marco Polo Airport - depart NYC in the evening, 8 hours later, arrive in Venice, late morning.  Try to catch some zzz’s on the flight and you can be off and running to enjoy day one!  Upon arrival, we arranged a private transfer with The Gritti Palace (hotel #1 on this itinerary) since it was our first time visiting Venice.  Our time was limited so we didn’t want to spend time getting lost.  Side note, you don’t have to do this, there are signs everywhere pointing you in the right direction to catch a waterbus or water taxi, whichever you and your wallet prefer!  Of course, for luxury travelers, a private water taxi transfer arranged by the hotel is the way to go in my opinion!  A representative from the hotel met us at baggage claim and we were on our way….  We were also fortunate enough to stay at Baglioni Hotel Luna during our stay in Venice, another luxury property.  You can't go wrong with either property and they are not far from one another.  Baglioni, is around the block from the famous Harry's Bar, home of the Bellini.  Both properties provide you with that Venetian history, elegance & luxury that can transport you back in time.

More of Venice....

Burano & Murano....

Trento & Alto Aldige...

Catch a train to visit the town of Trento where you will encounter amazing food & some shopping.  Rent or hire a car and escape to the mountainous Trentino-Alto Aldige (bordering Austria & Switzerland) for wine tasting.  We visited PacherhofHotel Weingut & Strasserhof, Vineyard & B&B. Our tastings were so memorable that, to this day, I always search for them on any menu or in any wine store.  I recommend staying at either property to make it a special experience!
