On the itinerary for this trip was Apulia (Puglia) and Basilicata which is considered more of the “instep” of the boot. The NY Times ranked Basilicata #3 in its “52 Places to Go in 2018” list and now I understand why. A trip such as this one allows you to truly immerse yourself into the Italian way of life.
