Southern Italy - Part I… This was my fourth time visiting Italy but my first time in southern Italy, “aka the heel of the boot”. On the itinerary for this trip was Apulia (Puglia) and Basilicata which is considered more of the “instep” of the boot. The NY Times ranked Basilicata #3 in its “52 Places to Go in 2018” list and now I understand why. A trip such as this one allows you to truly immerse yourself into the Italian way of life.
