New Mexico, PT III - Santa Fe ‘n Style - I can’t think of a better way to wrap up this week-long road trip than with a luxurious & relaxing stay at Four Seasons Resort Rancho Encantado Santa Fe. No trip to New Mexico is complete without a stay in Santa Fe. New Mexico has officially made it onto my list of beautiful, “Must-See” U.S. destinations.
New Mexico, Pt II - Sites & Bites…. Now that our internal compass has been set to “New Mexico mode”, we are ready to jump in the car for the longest stretch of the road trip. Heading south to visit the White Sands National Monument, we arrive just in time for sunset. We chose the town of Alamogordo for our overnight stay in order to get an early morning start. On our return to Santa Fe we managed to fit in some kitschy & cool stops along the way. Did someone say, road trip?!?!
New Mexico, PT I - As soon as we began to fly over the magnificent mountains & rolling hills of New Mexico, the excitement started to build in anticipation of all that the “Land of Enchantment” had to offer. Since we managed to fit so much into this 7-day road trip, I decided to make this into a three-part post. I hope you enjoy New Mexico as much as I did.
Hudson, NY - On the road again… this time Hudson, NY was added to the list of destinations for my ongoing series, “Day-Tripping”. Click below for some of my recommendations and pictures of course!
Miraval Austin, Texas - If booking a true wellness getaway isn’t on your bucket list, it’s time to add it! I recently returned from a three day stay at the newly opened Miraval Austin Resort & Spa and I am officially hooked. I can’t think of a better way to hit that reset button, so get ready to put that cell phone to sleep and to awaken an energy inside of you that you may not have known existed.
Belmond Maroma Resort & Spa in Riviera Maya, Mexico… Honored with five star recognition by Forbes travel guide, this former private villa with rich Mayan heritage is now an intimate resort situated on one of the worlds premier beaches with 63 rooms & suites.
Mexico City, PT II: Talk about WOW moments…. Hot Air Ballooning over the pyramids in Mexico City! If you are looking for a cool and unique experience than look no further. I hope you enjoy the conclusion to my mystical weekend in Mexico City!
Mexico City, PT I: I’ve visited the country of Mexico many times throughout my travels but this was my first time visiting Mexico City. I had high expectations because of my love for the country but what I didn’t expect was to walk away checking off a list of ‘first time’ experiences and adventures. Ahhh Mexico City, thanks for keeping my love of Mexico going strong and a huge thanks to @TzellTravel, @FirstinService, @FourSeasons, @Delta, @Aeromexico, @Journeymexico for making it all happen!
Galway; a charming city in western Ireland which is a 2 1/2 hour train ride from Dublin. Galway is known as Ireland's Cultural Heart and is renowned for its vibrant lifestyle and numerous festivals, celebrations and events.
Ireland: I’ve decided to split my Dublin/Galway trip into two posts. I will start off by saying, all of those rumors you hear about the people being so great in Ireland - it’s true!
Dublin….. you can catch an evening non-stop flight from NYC and arrive bright and early in Dublin ready to take on the day! Assuming you were able to catch some zzz’s on the flight of course. If not, keep moving anyway and catch a power nap later on to get your body adjusted to the time difference. Dublin is a great destination for a long weekend especially because you clear US customs before boarding your flight in Dublin which makes for an easy arrival in the US.
“Day-Tripping, Pt II” - Flea Markets & Thrift Stores: This post is split into two separate days. Day 1 - Sunday morning we jump into a rental car for a day that involves visits to Flea Markets & Thrift Stores in CT and Upstate NY. Day 2 - a weekday trip preferably to avoid crowds includes a subway ride into Brooklyn, NY. Aside from great deals on unique items, there is plenty of beautiful scenery and food to enjoy. These in my opinion make for a perfect day trip!
“Day-Tripping”…. Do you have a fear of flying? Not a fan of airports but are looking for a getaway? Well your next trip can be a train ride away. This will be first in a series of options for residents of the Metropolitan area.
Southern Italy - Part II…. wrapping up my southern Italy roadtrip in the Basilicata region and a town called Bernalda where I stayed at the enchanting PALAZZO MARGHERITA! Along with visits to Grottaglie, Matera, Crypt of the Original Sin and a short stay in Rome.
Southern Italy - Part I… This was my fourth time visiting Italy but my first time in southern Italy, “aka the heel of the boot”. On the itinerary for this trip was Apulia (Puglia) and Basilicata which is considered more of the “instep” of the boot. The NY Times ranked Basilicata #3 in its “52 Places to Go in 2018” list and now I understand why. A trip such as this one allows you to truly immerse yourself into the Italian way of life. I will split this post into two parts, here is “Part I”….
Nizuc Resort & Spa in Cancun, Mexico... Located on 29-acres of secluded private beachfront, surrounded by mangroves and facing the white sands of the Meso American Barrier Reef – the second largest coral reef in the world – this property feels miles away yet it is only a 15-minute drive from Cancun Airport.
Bermuda.... a short flight from New York a tropical relaxing getaway awaits you. During this visit I stayed at "The Reefs Resort & Club" in an ocean-facing club suitelocated in Southampton, one of the nine parishes in Bermuda. Since the island isn't very large, you can choose to see some of the attractions on certain days and beach bum it the rest!
First stop, Venice! A day trip to nearby, Burano & Murano where a rainbow of architecture & hand blown glass awaits. Catch a train to visit the town of Trento where you will encounter amazing food & some shopping. Rent or hire a car and escape to the mountainous Trentino-Alto Aldige (bordering Austria & Switzerland) for wine tasting. We visited Pacherhof, Hotel Weingut & Strasserhof, Vineyard & B&B. Our tastings were so memorable that, to this day, I always search for them on any menu or in any wine store. I recommend staying at either property to make it a special experience! A perfect trip to one of my favorite destinations, Italy!
Paradise awaits you in Thailand! We flew into Bangkok on Delta Air Lines and connected onto Koh Samui the following morning on Bangkok Airways. Some people like to end their trip on the beach but we thought recovering from the long flight and time difference was more appropriate upon arrival! A few days later we took a short flight to Chiang Mai for some amazing adventures and wrapped up our trip in Bangkok. Yes, we were hopping around but it was absolutely worth it! This destination is a must for your bucket list!
The Maldives and Dubai.... Emirates was the airline of choice for this exciting trip. We were definitely spoiled on this flight, a double-decker aircraft with a full bar/lounge area! It remains the most memorable flight I've taken. We flew into Dubai and connected straight on to the Maldives, saving Dubai for the tail end of the trip.
